TV Boin was founded on October 28, 2001 by the early departed Mr. Tomë Bojaj. The main goal of this television has been preservation and advancement of the collective and individual rights of the Albanians in Montenegro. The Albanian language differs completely from majority and other minority languages in Montenegro. In this vein, tradition and culture bears resemblance with other traditions and cultures in Montenegro, yet it has its own specifics. The entire activity of this media is conducted in full compliance with the local laws of Montenegro, the Constitution and international conventions. TV Boin is the first and only television in Montenegro with a 24-hour program in Albanian language. TV program consists of various daily shows: chronicles, interviews, news, reports – informing the public in their mother tongue, hearing the voice of Albanians on various issues impacting them. In this way, this media has given and gives an important contribution to the preservation of national identity and protection from assimilation, which endangers a large number of Albanian residents in Montenegro and elsewhere. The TV Boin program is diverse and includes the following shows:
- “Morning show” – an hour of live program, with information of the latest news from health, culture, art, etc;
- Cartoons – all in Albanian, which has contributed and helps a lot in enriching the Albanian vocabulary to the youngest;
- Albanian music for children;
- The children’s show “Children’s section”, where for the first time the children appeared in front of the cameras with recitations, songs, presentation of works and drawings, dancing and even directing shows. All this, not only enriches their expressive skills, but also breaks down a barrier that without emotion appear in front of the cameras and the public, thus becoming good orators. This has also helped a lot in continuing their education and in their successful careers later;
- The show “Aktuale” is a show in which every evening are presented the daily activities that take place in Malësia and beyond with a cultural and social character. In this show are treated the problems and the situation in the agriculture and livestock sector, various activities such as promotions and theatrical and musical performances, activity of domestic enterprises, the situation of families in difficult economic conditions, which has helped and helps the realization of the construction of many houses for families in need and in solving various other problems;
- The show “Open Studio” – conversations with guests in the studio on political topics. From here the voice has been heard and is heard for years for the needs of the independent Municipality, for the right to use national symbols, etc;
- “Reportage” – It is about the life and work of figures with historical weight for Albanians in Montenegro, about life in the villages of Malësia, about cultural and religious sites, about natural beauties, such as mountains and other attractive places for tourism development;
- “Interview” – Topics on Albanian successes, social, psychological, sports, artistic are addressed. Interviews with our compatriots in emigration on their life and work, successes and preservation of national traditions in the diaspora and similar;
- “Youth in focus” – the presentation of Albanian youth, their higher education, employment and their careers in various fields;
- “Successful Albanian women” – deals with the life and career of Albanian women who have given and continue to make an outstanding contribution to our society;
- “Life” – a show dedicated to the elderly, who talk about the former life in Malësia;
- “BoInfo” – the central news edition and “Short News”;
- “Ora medica” – a show dedicated to health, in which the best doctors from Montenegro talk about health protection, various diseases and give important medical advice for the health of residents.
TV Boin production are also all sessions of the Municipal Assembly that are broadcast live, as well as public debates, lectures and activities organized by the Municipality;
Tv Boin has and keeps recording and broadcasting numerous dramas and documentaries in collaboration with Cultural and Artistic Associations in Malësia;
This television has a rich 30-year archive with thousands of recordings. This is thanks to the commitment of its founder, who had a vision and with his camera filmed every cultural, religious, political and sports activity since the 90s, shootings that have a great cultural value. All this material is very interesting and demanded by the public and for this reason different parts are broadcast every evening;
Tv Boin also realizes festive shows for important national Albanian holidays, such as: November 28 – National Flag Day, April 6 – Highland Uprising Day, as well as entertainment programs for the end-of-year holidays;
TV BOIN with its program for years deals with social topics, promotes gender balance, culture, health, sports programs, mobile studios on election day, entertainment programs and games (quiz) for young people, prepares many chronicles from everyday life, etc;
Tv Boin has realized the school quiz, which had a competitive character, in which a large number of students participated. Through the quiz they have unfolded their knowledge;
The TV Boin channel can be watched by the citizens of Montenegro through the digital package Free Air and the cable M:tel, while there is a large viewership from the Albanian diaspora in America through Albtv. In order to stay as close as possible to the viewers and the diaspora in the countries of Europe, Australia or wherever they are, it also distributes the materials on the TV BOIN sites, on youtube and the news on the tvboin.com portal.
